What credentials does Wikimedia/Wikipedia have as a non-profit?

Wikimedia is currently taking donations in a drive to raise what looks like $1 Million. I think it is a great cause, but want to be sure my money won’t go to buying someone a boat, or toga party.

I think that Wikipedia will need all the money they can get in their research for expanding their database…

Wikimedia has had a general good will among the net community. They are EXPECTED to be honest and truthful in all theri dealings. So, in the first place, it looks very very improbable that there could be any fraud at any level.

But then, yes, we the donors have all the right to know how they intend to use our money.

I think they have tried to be very transparent in this regard. They have an entire set of webpages that gives details of all the money that came in, down to each donation.
    SEE

They have offered to answer anything that someone might wnat to know at this page:

They even have put compelte details of previous fund raisers on the site. and they have been huge successes.

I would love to hope that they would do their jon honestly always, for they are doing a great job!

    All the best!
