What is more important for being admitted to USC, GPA or academic level of classes?

-I know I obviously shouldn’t take easy classes
-I’m wondering if I take a harder High School class and get a lower grade then an A, would the level of the class make up for the lower GPA? I heard some colleges are now taking the academic level of the class into more consideration.
-Also do you know if I could get in easier if I sail really well because there aren’t sailing scholarships.

GPA, GPA, GPA. You’ll need a REALLY high GPA, like 4.0+ to even be considered. Then it goes from there.
